The weekend’s here, looking for something to do between Friday night and Sunday night – here’s our list of happening things.

Full Frequency at Connections
This Friday night, community radio station RTRFM are holding a fundraiser at Connections. Much loved DJ Dan the Man is returning to Perth for the night and playing alongside Rok Riley, Dart and Sardi, Massiv Trav, Micah and Ben Mac. Head down to support the home of gay radio program ‘All Things Queer’ Tickets on the door.

Feel at Bar Open
A new night, from the team behind the popular Zoo nights, hard trance and electronic sounds, spACE and Manchyld are on the decks.

Marriage Equity Rally
Show your support for same sex marriage at a rally in Forrest Place at 1pm on Saturday. Jade Eckhaus, Queer Officer from the National Union of Students will host the event. On the podium will be Senator Rachel Siewert and Lynn MacLaren MLC, Kelly Shay from Unions WA and a representative from the Cross-Campus Queer Network. Plus there will be performances from Swish Eveready and Rachel Discrimination.

The Modern International Dead
Deckchair Theatre Company’s 2011 season has kicked off. Damien Millar’s play The Modern International Dead opens on Saturday Night at Victoria Hall in Fremantle.

Catalpa
This one man tour-de-force is on at the Subiaco Theatre Centre until Saturday. There’s a matinee at 2pm, or the evening show is at 7:30pm. Des Fleming brings this true story of escape from Fremantle Prison to life playing 15 characters, plus he impressively plays a ship and a seabird too. Tickets are available through BOCS.

WA Screen Awards
This is a really fun event, Perth growing local film industry’s night of nights to celebrate all the short films, television and features made in WA in the last year. The awards are usually pretty fast and loose and the drinks and mingling afterwards is friendly and you meet heaps of people. It’s on this Saturday night at the Octagon Theatre at UWA.

High Tea at The Maj
Here’s something a bit classy in the city on Sunday, head off for High Tea at His Majesty’s Theatre. Beautiful food in the amazing Edwardian surroundings. It’s $45 per person, call 9226 1006 to book, there’s only a few seats left.
